Spain World Cup Squad Announced


Vicente del Bosque finalized his squad for the upcoming World Cup. Spain, has to have one if not the deepest talent pool that will be participating in the biggest tournament of the world.

One thought that was on every Spanish fan was whether or not Del Bosque would include the Atletico star Diego Costa. He has been carrying a nagging injury that has put him in doubt but his talent and outstanding season has proven he is an invaluable asset and has been rewarded with a spot in the 23 man squad.

Del Bosque also rewarded the big efforts of Atletico by calling up Koke and Juanfran. Juanfran might challenge current starter and Chelsea starlet Azpilucueta.


Notable exclusions include:

Roberto Soldado, Alvaro Negredo, Jesus Navas, Carvajal, Diego Lopez, Monreal, Inigo Martinez, Isco, Bartra, Munain, Itturaspe, Ander Herrera.





Goalkeeper: Casillas, de Gea, Reina

Defenders: Ramos, Piqué, Albiol, Javi Martínez, Jordi Alba, Juanfran, Azpilicueta

Midfielders: Koke, Xavi, Xabi Alonso, Iniesta, Cesc, Busquets, Cazorla, Mata, Silva

Forwards: Pedro, Villa, Costa, Torres
